Remedi SeniorCare® Appoints Richard Hamel as Corporate Controller

BALTIMORE, October 2, 2012- Remedi SeniorCare®, one of the country’s leading institutional pharmacies, has named Richard Hamel as Vice President, Corporate Controller. In this position, Hamel is the head of Financial Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Billing, Collections, and Credits and Returns for the corporation.  He reports to Remedi’s Chief Financial Officer, Thierry Amat.

Formerly the vice president and controller of inVentiv Healthcare’s Clinical Segment, Hamel led the company’s finance group through two rounds of integration restructuring, and reduced the overall cost structure by more than 25 percent. Prior to that, he worked for Aptuit, where he was vice president and corporate controller. There, he implemented Lean Six Sigma management tools in Accounting, Billing and Collections, and successfully reduced the closing cycle while improving accuracy of the financial statements.

“Rich’s experience leading and managing accounting and finance functions within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices and contract-manufacturing arenas made him the ideal candidate,” said Michael Bronfein, Remedi SeniorCare’s Chairman and CEO. “Because he is intimately familiar with lean management and has successfully used these operational tools in his previous roles, I am very confident that he will be able to help us drive improvements in our finance departments.”

Hamel holds a Masters of Business Administration from Union College in New York and a Bachelor’s of Arts from York University in Ontario.
