Richard Mainzer has dedicated his career to long-lerm and post-acute care, starting in 1979. Throughout his career, he has continued to apply his clinical, technology and business skills to promote the advancement of quality and cost-effective health care. In 2002, Richard joined Remedi SeniorCare and since 2009, he has built a systems integration team to support the accelerated pace of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems growth in long-term care. Most recently he has focused on clinical analytics to promote the availability and use of intelligent information to improve clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, pharmaceutical cost management and regulatory sensitivity. With the importance of clinical analytics to both Remedi and its customers, Richard looks forward to sharing his knowledge and skills through speaking engagements, as well as product development.
Prior to joining Remedi, Richard served in clinical and product development leadership roles with Nationwide Pharmacy, Vitalink and NeighborCare. Driving the introduction of technology into the long-term care pharmacy practice, Richard developed and deployed one of the first consultant pharmacist software systems, mobile technology for assessing resident admissions, financial and clinical data analytics tools and more.
With a pharmacist degree at the University of Maryland, Richard has also played an active role in regulatory and government affairs at both the State and Federal level, working on behalf of the LTCPAC industry and supporting lobbying efforts for reform. He has spoken locally and nationally on topics ranging from clinical care, regulatory matters, technology solutions, and pharmacoeconomics. He remains actively engaged with industry organizations to assist in the successful proliferation of technology in health care.
