To assist the beneficiary in making their decision, a variety of educational resources are available and the CMS Prescription Drug Plan Finder and Formulary Finder can prove to be extremely helpful.

Enrollment in a plan for the first time can be done at any time during the year. Coverage will begin on the first day of the next month after enrollment. Dually eligible beneficiaries will automatically be enrolled in a randomly selected Part D plan, but the beneficiary may select another plan approved by the State before or after this auto-assignment process.
